Talking ''79 Electrical issue

Just finished cam tower seals and decided to drive the 928 in to work. All was well until I went out to start it after work. I got nothing when I turn the key. Normally I can hear the relay click over when I turn the key to the first position. Nothing happened, on dash light no relay click, nothing. Any thoughts?

Dead battery? (can self discharge to nothing)... or as above bad ground strap.

Test battery voltage across the terminals, test voltage again with the ignition on, & test voltage from battery +post to the ground point where battery ground strap attaches...

All will be revealed...

BTW if the problem miraculously seems to go away after messing with the battery - it was the ground strap - change it out.

When I saw the ground strap post, I thought no way. But I took a look at it. Tightened the wing nut, it did not budge.Tried to start the car. All systems go! Thank you for your help. I would have over thought this problem.
