but Pet shows it is for MY 78-82. Now I have no clue if I have the correct part or not, oh well I just want the box anyways. Maybe Mark can tell us.

My PET part list shows the part numbers below for MY 83-86

928 722 103 02 Box of Bulbs
928 722 103 04 Box of Bulbs (F)
928 722 103 05 Box of Bulbs (J)

Have one (slightly cracked - but original) in my 82. Just used one of the bulbs this fall! I felt slightly bad using up an "original spare" part though.

Thanks! Wondering if I was missing something on my 87, doesn't sound like it.

Well... that doesn't mean there wasn't a bulb kit - but it would certainly have had different contents.

I think you should indeed carry spare bulbs, just get the right ones and find an appropriate (stock or otherwise) box for them...

Porsche provided a bulb monitoring system so I assume they felt you should have bulbs on hand to be able to change out at least for the urgent warnings (brakes, rear markers) - these can be changed easily & quickly without tools - on S4's anyway... I have fog/aux HL & headlight bulbs too - little more involved to change - but not too bad...

A few 53b relays, jumpers, fuses are a good idea also - mine are in the same box.
