I’m in the process of installing a new instrument panel in my 1990 S4. I have successfully removed the air bag and steering thanks to the above thread; however I am now at work stoppage because I cannot get the bottom shelf removed I have everything lose and ready to go except something on the left side of the shelf is still holding it to the dash pad it seems. I tried the WSM for and exploded diagram but no luck. Any suggestions greatly appreciated
From Theos site,
remove the nut that holds the center under the steering wheel,
and if you remove the air duct fitting on the side of the dash ,
you will see a 10 mm nut inside the dash that holds the left edge,
and it sounds like you got the console 13 mm bolts
I’m starting reassembly tomorrow after completing instrument cluster and pod repair. After examining my right side switch wiring I notice the disconnected very small wire coming from the wiper delay adjustment wheel wiring bundle on the bottom right side of pod. I tried to show it in the attached pic. Any info on this connection greatly appreciated. I’m not sure it was even connected to start with. The wire is the very small one just above the adjustment wheel
