Default Alternator year/fit question

Will a 93+ alternator fit an 88?

Yes. Something about the engine block mounting bracket/cassette changed in '91 but 928Intl lists the same part for 85-95. I mounted an S4 alternator on Dan's '91 so I assume the converse can also be done. AFAIK, the only differences between the S4 and GTS alternators is the movable bushing is flipped to the other mounting ear, and the configuration of the cooling fan blades, electrically they're identical.

Ya..I checked, and a 90 and 92+ share the same PN...the position of the bushing is mice nuts, who cares.

Thanks!
