OBTW, links to pics can change for a number of reasons, some of them not related to the person doing the linking. The hosting agent often redirects and requires the user to make changes. Lots of people don't keep up with it, and there are a lot of dead links in RL.

For the record, there is advertising where there was none before. THAT should pay for the site. AND Reutterwerk.com has no ads OR membership fee. Might be time to stop posting here and start more over there.

The point Imo000 is making is that as a technical forum, making it the easiest way possible to post tech write ups is in the best interest of IB. If one of the biggest sponsors of the 928 forum is complaining, it might actually be a legitimate beef. If they are just trying to extract the maximum value of the site while draining it, then they will get what they wanted.

In Calverton NY there are over 50,000 cars sitting on runways from Sandy. These cars are being sold off and retitled in other states. They are a mess with salt water thru out. Be careful for the next few years buying a used car. We saw a beautiful 997 turbo there and it was gone within days. This car was terrible.

The fact of that matter is, hosting+maintaining a website of this scale and complexity is _easy_. The ad revenue should take care of it. However, IB is not a small organization. It has a corporate structure, benefits, interns and other garbage that require it to maintain a certain level of capital expenditure. If their storage is getting too expensive for individual sites [such as Rennlist], then they will pass that cost on to the user. All we can hope if is IB getting acquired by Google and thus scale becomes free :-)

You call it bitching and complaining just to get a reaction. If I felt paying AGAIN for a memebership was worth it, I would but I don't and I stated this clearly why on the Canadian forum. You are as abresive as they come when the topic is other than a technical discussion.

As for IB and RL, it's not clear what the arangements are with this site. Is IB leasing/renting the right to make it look as if they are owners and is just an advertisment contract. Dosen't matter that much but what matter is the lack of interest in what is a legitmate concern. I'm not the only one, but you know this from the Canadian forum. Why are you trying to pick a fight over something that is between me/us and RL/IB?
