Default VW guys LOVE our manhole covers

Dunno why it is that manhole covers actually look good on VW's. Personally i don't really like the way they look on 928's, they cover up too much of the brakes.

So THIS is where all our manhole covers are going!

I want to get some BBS RS's for my 87, think i'll keep the manhole covers still though, i think they're important to keep with the car when i sell it.

They are damn good wheels, super strong lightweight forged aluminum. Too bad they make the 928 look so dated.

I always thought that they brought the look of the 928 down. I'm surprised that they look so good on the VW's.

I must be the few that actually like these wheel on the 928. The wider S4 rears are even better looking.

Lm000, had a number of people that really liked the wheels and thought I was crazy for wanting to change them. I think if I got spacers that pushed the back wheels out another inch they would look much better. Still rather have 18" or 19" wheels though.

They look sehr gut on my 931, which is almost a VW.

And whoever said they were light is lying! Those things would make great anchors as well!

Just like everything I think the man hole covers will make a comeback someday when no good sets are left and some people want to go back to stock. As for now, what are they worth to the VW guys. Are they running the same size tires?

Always have liked the manhole covers, although I do think the carerra III update the car quite a bit.

usually the VW folks have to go with a shorter tire.. I've got 205/40/16's on 7" phone dials (65 offset). Had to find some wheel adapters too (4x100 to 5x130), 30mm thick on the front and 20 on the back.

I want to store mine when i find some BBS's for exactly that reason rgs944, someday they will be worth something. Well, by that time people will be restoring them because hopefully people will appreciate their beauty and all the turd 928's will be gone. I have seen the manhole covers and D90's go for very cheap on eBay, surprising to me.

I am pretty sure most VW guys are younger guys, so they probably are always on kijiji and eBay as much as i am and they see what the average market price is, so they're probably worth as much as that. The VW bolt pattern is mostly 5x100, so obviously an adapter is needed.

Those VW's need to upgrade to 928 brakes and rotors. Then the wheels would bolt right on.

Is the 928 rear hub a fit on the drive end of a FWD Volkswagen? Just thinking...
