Nice contraption, man!
CupI's look awesome on early cars!
Ya'll know I'm a sucker for some phone dials.. but 15s... in bronze!?
Paint 'em satin black and you're in retro heaven.

I would ditch the 15 in. Phoney dials ,
If you like the look of PDs then get the 16 inch versions thay look a whole lot better than the 15 in. Phoneys

Well, typical good news bad news.
GOOD NEWS- It looks like I am going to be the proud new owner of a new (to me) house. I will have more garage space than ever before and plan to fill it to the brim with 928's and 928 materials. I will even have a dedicated parts room.
The BAD NEWS- To make this happen I will need to immediately start preparing my current house for sale which will include de-cluttering my house and my property of all 928 related items and moth balling all my current projects.
We will be moving the weekend of SITM so I will have to miss that again this year.
Long term this is a GREAT move. In the short term though it definitely changes plans and priorities.

It was kind of ironic that my upholstery guy called me this week to tell me that my console was recovered. It looks good but it is bitter sweet because it will just sit in a box for a few months. I threw an old seat and a steering wheel in the car to move it out of it prime parking spot. I was thrilled that it cranked right up and idled well during the shuffle.

Another small setback in this long journey. I had planned on having the white 79 parts car towed to the new house this weekend where it will be stored inside. I was going to ride with the driver to the old house and follow in the project black 79 (minus interior). While I spend a lot of time thinking about both of these cars and they're future glory, I haven't really touched them in 6 months.
I had the battery out of the car and on the charger and had planned on moving the black 79 under cover and doing some basic safety checks for the 8 mile journey to the new home. After installing the battery, she cranked right up and after some tweaking to the air/fuel (counter clockwise) and the idle screw she smoothed right out and sounded as good has she has in some time. I had previously installed a driver seat from an unknown year just to move it around the yard while the stock manual seats are being re-covered. Everything checked out and I was ready to move her over and I could not engage any gear (5 sp). I don't have the shift **** installed so I thought maybe I was just not "finding it". After several attempts, searching for all gears.....,any gear.... I gave up. I had spent the allotted time.
At first, I figured it was related to work previously done to the rear shift coupler. But the issue wasn't really finding the gears, it was engaging them. It sounded like I did not have the clutch depressed. The peddle felt fine but did not seem to do anything.
I will have them both towed to the new place and will probably just sit for another couple of months. The wedding is in less than a month and I still have a few home projects to finish to get it ready for all of the out of town guests. When I started this thread I never dreamed it would be completed in the winter of a future year, lol.

Finally got the cars towed over yesterday with the help of a young man I taught in Sunday School years back.
I was very grateful he was available to help.

Progress being made on getting the 79 back on the road and better than ever.
This is the work that my good friend Dean Fuller is doing for me. I will be very excited to start the reassembly process soon. (fingers crossed)

In the fourth picture below the seat back on the right was done a year ago. The seat back on the left was done a week ago using a cover that had been folded up in a box and stored for a year. Dean was nice enough to call yesterday with some tips on how to remedy that situation. The back cushions are not attached to the seat back yet, they are just placed in the seat back to get an idea of width and compression. I may get a chance to work on it again next weekend.
