I don't want to make a habit of this...but are there any Nashville, TN Rennlisters around? Specifically, Smith County?
I have a feeling I'm going to have trouble finding a Nashville guy...
Any ideas on how I could get a PPI done on this car? He's in somewhat of a rural area.

As you point out Smith is an hour outside of Nashville. I have no first hand experience with any shop in Nashville, but there are a pair of shops that I know do a fair amount of 928, 944 and older 911 business based on their parking lots. PM me if you still need them
Not sure if a national PPI rep will be any more farmilar with a 928 then a local mechanic.

Def. not the car Dean looked at for me.
If it's an 86.5, maybe worth $4500-6000 if the maintenance was not kept up. I don't see plates; see a lot of expected interior warpage on the dash and faded mats. Warped front and rear bumper covers too.
Paint looks nice but until it's seen up close...

Some higher resolution pictures of inside, outside and engine compartment would help if your want the peanut gallery to really dial-in.
I'm wondering if its an honest, undamaged, original paint car. Kind of looks that way, but the pictures are low res.
If it is original, and there is some maintenance history, then it would be time to strike up a conversation with the owner I think.

Pretty nice guy overall. Said money was no object in maintaining the vehicle which I like so long as things were done properly.
He owns a large building that he stores it in. It has't SAT sat, but he does store it there and take it out and drive it a bit and wash it and put it back, he said he does that every couple weeks.
So far it's interesting but I'm still early in the information stage.
Let's see if I can get him to take it to Renntag in Nashville.

^^^ Smart 928 owner with a critical eye! There ya go, somebody who can tell you if its the real deal or not.
Sounds promising.
Best of luck with it.
If people out in the general classic car buying public knew about the depth and breadth of rennlist, these cars would be worth much more.
