Default headlights not working.... a little help please

I have the 80 us all assembled now. doing some minor body filling as well... after putting light assembly back in...no lights.

tail lights all work, and fuses for head lights and brights appear to be good. They lights were all working before putting in the new light assembly. I had to disassemble and disconnect all lights to put new bumper on. As far as I can tell however, there is only the 3 prong connector as it concerns the head lights.

Both connectors are of course connected. I have neither low beams, nor high beams.

any ideas? Ground i am missing that relates directly to headlights?

There are 3 wires to the headlights Brown is ground, Yellow (left side: Yellow/Black) is Low Beams and White (left side: White/Black) is High beams. Test that you have 12v+ across Yellow -> Brown when low beams are on and between White -> Brown when high beams are on.

If not - test between Yellow or White and a good chassis Ground point...

I am not sure exactly where that is, but I am going to go look. I am thinking it is a ground issue. with the lights off, I hear a relay click when I hit "flash to pass", so I know at the very least, the high beam relay is working. hopefully I can find that ground.

There really isn't a high beam relay in the sense you are assuming...

There is a headlight on/off relay and a high/low selector relay - the high low/selector relay won't make anything work if the on/off relay doesn't work.

Just test as I noted - no point chasing ground wires unless you know that is actually the real issue...

BTW H4 bulb type connectors are not wired the way you might expect - ground is not the only pin in its orientation...

First, if both lights stopped working at the same time, I would check the headlight relay and associated contacts on the CE panel.
Second, I remember reading here somewhere that there is a contact/sensor in the headlight motor that prevents the lights from turning on until they are fully up. If you did any work that could have impacted the rotation of the headlights or the headlight motor, this could be the issue.
