Default hatch opens without unlock ...

Hello all, my rear hatch will pop up (with pressure) without the key. Something must be wrong, no 928 can be easy to get it, I took some pictures at what I thought was a broken piece.
Let me know what you guys come up with, thanks!!

looks like you are missing the liner for the lock assembly. need a new one. what does the latch look like on the hatch?

Get a new rubber?/plastic? receiver liner from Roger or Nicole - replacements of just the liner - work great!

You may still need some adjustments - but don't try that without the liner in place - or you may crack the upper tongue ($$).

If there is a crack arouind the body of the "tongue" with vibration it will let the white part come lose from the flap part in the bottom piece.
The flap part is what rotates when you pull the button by the seat. It is shown in your first picture to the top of the latch picture.

Order the part...

928's R Us, Inc.

Item number Description Qty. Unit price Total price
----------------------------------------------------------------------
HRI |Hatch Receiver Insert...| 1| 31.50 USD| 31.50 USD
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Subtotal: 31.50 USD
Shipping / handling: 7.00 USD
VAT: 0.00 USD
=================================
Total: 38.50 USD

Then fold a piece of paper so if fits inside the rear part of the receiver and is about 1/8". That will keep it locked for now.

Thats always broken..make sure the piece that it connects to on the car side, moves up and down freely and turns when you ask it to as well.

if you slam it does it latch? if you have a newer hatch seal that can cause some issues.
