Interesting... still, need to get the turd 928's off the road, their price really has made most of them turds. Because they are cheap, the people who buy them are cheap, no maintenance, no nothing, then they complain that 928's are unreliable when stuff stops working or it becomes a no start car.

I have my eye out for one more 87 or up. All water cooled 80's Porsches have a bright future over the next 5 years. A few more years the un-cared for junk should either be parted already or too far gone to to save.

My 86.5 has some cosmetic issues from minor accidents by PO... nothing too bad but required repaint of a couple of 1/4 panels, etc.. Still looks good at 3 feet, but a repaint is a repaint is a repaint... Mechanically it was great with 41K miles, 5 speed, RH 3 part wheels and the all leather two tone interior was better than most I've seen to date. I ended up paying $12k with title / taxes which is pretty much middle of the road price wise... Even so, its taken a small fortune to get all the deferred maintenance & little stuff back up to date which I thoroughly enjoy doing... UNFORTUNATELY, most low-ball buyers wont do this and the car gets even crappier and it keeps the prices low. I plan on keeping my for LIFE so it doesnt really matter to me what she'll sale for but I would like to see the prices rise to a respectable level in keeping with a great classic car!

I will keep my car for life too but I do want prices to get where they should be, which is more in line with 911 prices. I have a friend who is a life long mechanic and car guy that I gave a ride to the other day. Afterward he asked what it's worth and I told him my car was probably worth about $14,000. He said surprised, that's it? Kind of embarrassing compared to other cars that are much slower or have a crappy build qaulity.

I had a friend that I raced with in the same vintage group that drove a '58 250 TR
and when we were racing together it was worth between $4 to 6million. ( I kept my distance in the curvy bits)He paid about 5,000 for it in 1959. As he raced it about 7 times a year and drove the **** out of of it or at least it looked like it from my perspective. I asked him what would he do if he rolled it into a ball and he said that maybe the rebuild would cost about $500,000. He was still ahead
Think about it.

This might be worth making an offer if anyone has some extra cash laying around.
