Accessed my old confuter for pix: engine shots are when I installed the oil control kit. Don't remember why but I had to remove the water pump to do it.

reduced pic file sizes. Bodywork pic is self explanatory. Quarter and door came out good. Engine shot is from when I installed the oil control kit. I reused the old
seals on the waterpump with no leaks. (a little purple permatex helped)

I rebuilt this from two wrecks. One total wing and the whole cabin area.
Covered and painted myself. Rebuilt and adapted the suzuki G10.
Take off @ 5300 rpm, cruise 4700. (A&P mechanic) -to keep this german car related,
the carb is a solex from a dual carb Karmann Ghia with some major jetting changes.

I bought it from 928 motorsports. They had good instructions to go with the kit. After buying the car, the first time I pushed the pedal hard through the gears I got the mosquito killing plume trailing me. Crankcase pressure working with the crank counterweight directly below the vent/filler assy pumps an oil mist directly back to the air filter box. Maybe they don't do that when they are new engines but they are only new for a little while. -Meanwhile, I knew my engine was good, just a slight design flaw. The kit involves tapping an
existing hole to return oil via a tee to the cam box. (left side), an angled plate to be inserted at the base
of the filler/vent casting, and a modification to the filler can. I did the first two, the angle plate was the most labor intensive. I hesitated to mutilate the filler can thingy and took it out for a trial run leaving that
part of the mods undone. I'm glad I did because I whipped the old girl as hard as I wanted and not a
puff of smoke. It also stops the oil drip you previously got from the air filter box when you park it.
Nice and dry now. Definitely worth the money and the work. Everything is dry and clean. I saved the old hose in a hose for whoever might someday want it. -still looks like new.

Thought I'd add these; part of the reason I didn't dicker on the guy's price. Obviously an aftermarket radio and somone went to a lot of effort to install a period equalizer under the dash. I don't listen to radios when I drive but leaving it in adds to authenticity. Like having an original 8 track in your Plymouth Duster.
