that picture sure shows what i thought was going on. But the bumper looks made that way, or was it a modification of a stock S4 bumper??
either way, dual hot pipes surrounding the gastank cant be be the best idea!

the thing looks brand new underneath! nice car, but too bad its ... so expensive

The Polizei car is back on eBay, in a no-reserve auction, probably by mistake. The bidding is at $21.50 as of now. Should be interesting to watch this one.

NOTE: Actual law enforcement pursuit roof light bar and interior emergency light bars and related accessories will be removed prior to shipping. These can be made available to the buyer at cost if so desired. In addition, the tactical vest and accessories and special order DMV Germany plate will also be sold separately. All available for viewing on the website.
Nice fine print!

This is the car for Brian aka Iceman G17, he's a real cop and could drive it on the street.

Slap some local PD stickers on it for him then. Service weapons will have to be a shortened shotgun and SBR though as you can't delete the rear console thanks to the torque tube tunnel.

I am not bidding on the car, but I see now that the bids are up to $520 (8 bids to date). I am wondering how this works with eBay and the seller. If the auction ended right now (it really has 6 days to go), would the seller be bound by law to sell this car for $520 to the winning bidder? Or can the seller claim that the listing was in error for some reason?

Be realistic, I don't think there is any recourse other than feedback; all the talk about "binding contract" I think would be up to you to enforce; you might actually have a case, IF you want to go to the locale and file, please let us know how it turns out. I was high bidder on a no reserve white S-4; the seller didn't realize what a no-reserve was.

Steve,

Thanks. Again, I'm not bidding, but I am interested to see how it plays out. When you were the high bidder on the no reserve white S4, did you end up being able to buy the car? Any problems?

Robert, this was more than 6 years ago, so . . . ebay rules may have some fine print now, they are always refining things -- in their favor; I don't think they would even kick somebody off temporarily, as sellers are the way they make money. The problem is enforcement. Ebay isn't going to spend any money to enforce something like this. I was ready to fly to Tallahasse, when the seller emailed me and at least saved me the expense. I think he sold it locally, I did not see it re-listed anywhere. Always wondered what went down.

That's part of the hook with auctions, you never know how it is going to play out - it ain't over til it's over.

Another detail, not applicable in this case, is if the winner cops out, one might expect the second to get it, but all bets are off, the auction is nullified. One would think in a no reserve the second bidder would get the car, but I believe it is at the discretion of the seller. Unless his back is to the wall, or fire sale, if there was any interest, seller frequently thinks, 'well, there is some interest there, I might get more bidders next time.' YMMV.
