Default Willhoit unfair practices

Should a dealer come on a forum to discredit a private sellers efforts?
Maybe to protect all of us naive buyers from paying too much when his cars are the most expensive in the world?
See "Nice red GTS on Ebay" thread page 2.
If I was another dealer he would never disclose this.
Trade disparagement/Trade Libel, Interference with economic relationships, unfair competition, etc.

Most of the flame wars on here are the result of spontaneous combustion. To start a thread looking for allies in a flame war is just too sophomoric. Where's the sport?

Seems to me Willhoit nailed it, $65k is 5 spd territory.

Since you ask...
Its open dialogue among experts.
That's what we do here.

You are flipping the car like a dealer, not a private owner.
Your previous posts included a bit of obsession with investment potential and resale value.

I hope you get the $65, BTW. It appears very, very nice. I'd probably insist on a PPI that gave me cylinder scope pictures, compression check and flex plate measurement, but that's just me.

I strongly suspect A/C fix is pretty important from an optics perspective to the potential buyer.

That, and other ad construct mistakes make the difference between a pro reseller to this market and a private individual trying to accomplish a chunk of margin, aka, a semi-pro seller. Well, that and the intricate special relationships that a high end reseller has to form and protect over years to have top of mind access to Dr's, Lawyers, CEO's and other big $$$ / high disposable income buyers.

So I welcome the pro dealer input, especially in the context of the shoot out you revealed between you guys. It adds color and texture. Makes me think its got the high-end criteria to justify price. Just missing the magic wand in the presentation and the connections.

Not sure why he'd come and pee on your sale. It's in his interest to see cars sell for more. At least I'd think so.

Sounds like someone is a bit butthurt over someone speaking the truth. You are asking way too much for a car that is not in anywhere near the condition it should be in for that asking price. Just so you know, I sold a 5 speed that is in much better condition than this car for less than 1/2 of what you are asking, and that car needed nothing. Reason it sold so much lower? It was an early '93 in the same color set up.

High end market competition : good

Disclosing bidding war $ : bad

Asking pro pricing w/o the "goods" to back it up : what Landseer said

I suspect a little schooling from MW wouldn't hurt too much... if ya got the skin for it.

Bought my very very near perfect concours ready 94 Iris Blue Metallic 5 speed from Wilhoit with 40K, did not pay anywhere near what you are asking, and price included a premium for the color.

...who cares if this guy's car is overpriced? He's not forcing anyone to buy it...

It's called a discussion forum, that's what we do, discuss things like this.

No, they are factual and contain no sugar coating, sorry if that offends you. I tend not to ***** foot around just to make others feel all warm and fuzzy.
