Spent the better part of the AM getting my 1980 Euro S put away for the winter. Aired up the tires, filled the tank and added Stabil, cleaned all the fuse termials, sealed the exhaust and air intakes. Cleaned it inside and outside, put it on the battery maintaner. The cover is on it now and will be till early May of next year.

So sorry, dang it. I felt bad when reading about you putting your car away for the winter then remembered I am going out romping around in the mountains with my GF tonight in my 928.

She is a teacher on a 5 day field trip with her 6th graders at a mountain camp. Im gonna go rescue her for awhile.

I will be thinking of you as I go through the gears. Cheers.....

San Diego 928,

I have my doubts as to your expression of sorrow for my now terminated 928 driving fun. On the other hand with no fuel and insurance to pay for I have more money for parts, ie power steering lines, upgraded rear rotors, Hawke HPS pads for the Brembos at all four corners, and euro fog lamp lenses.

Always try to get my parts in over the winter so I can go right into spring with all my maintainence done.

I am/was truly sorrowful and I did a 120mph run in your cars honor. Long live Lea!!!!!!!!

Passed a huge 6+ point Buck twice while tooling around the mountains. In 20 years of being in these parts I have never seen a Buck, only the Doe and their fawn.

I tend to park my car if it is going to get above 30C (86F), my wife will not get into the car if it is going to be above 38C (100F). I love driving in the rain but we don't get too many of those days.

At least you have an excuse to park the car up and do some major maintenance, I have trouble wanting to get my car off the road long enough to fit all the parts I have bought over the years.

We got snow over a month ago and have been waiting for it to get above zero so I can finally put them to bed.

On the other hand I went down to Texas 2 weeks ago for the 3rd Coast party and drove a Wiessach for 3 days...........what a blast!!!

Put my 996 away this week. Just had the 60k/75k service completed so ready to drive in 2013. Well except for the convertible roof not functioning. I almost forgot about that. Now I am sadder.

I assume you ran the engine for a bit to get that Stabil throughout the system?

I honestly have no concept of putting a car away for the winter. But then again, many up North have no concept of 70, 100+ degree days in a year. Brutal both ways I guess.....

Randy,

I always run the tank down to a 1/4 level, then fill up adding the Stabil just prior to filling the tank. Five miles of driving befor it goes to bed for its long winters nap.
