This turned up in a search for Micro Edge refills.

43719

Bosch
Wiper Blade Refill/Insert; Rear; MicroEdgeIII; Set of 2; 19 Inch Length
For models equipped with Bosch MicroEdgeIII blades, center bracket will be marked ME3 near center pivot and both ends of blade are covered. This part has been discontinued by the manufacturer, we are limited to stock on hand. This part is currently on BACKORDER.

Isn't that a contradiction?

Advance Auto (and probably other parts stores) have Anco cut-to-fit refills in the narrow size. Work well, and cheap enough to change once a year or as required. Freshness of rubber is a big deal when you are talking about the southern summer sun.

Good luck,

This is what I've been using for several years on most all the cars and they work wonderfully.

Advance Auto has the Rainx 1/2 off on the second wiper - that was a determining factor. I am cheap. :-)

I have Michelin on my 928 and they fit loose in the wiper arm and judder. Rain-x on the Honda pilot, they work good and lasted just over a year.

I have been using the Bosch IKONs for a while on the front and back (built a conversion mechanism for the back

I actually still have my original GTS airblade arms - I probably should just unload them - they haven't been on the car for about 6 years.

I am also interested in New blades. But I'm more interested in a blade that will fit tight in the wiper arm. I'm not interested in original and would like to replace the wiper arms with something like the newer Mercedes have.

If it's possible to love a wiper blade, I absolutely do the PIAA silicone ones!! Have used them for years on my other cars - and while they are expensive, I managed 4 years out of a set (in the end, the frames started to corrode before the blades wore out but it started to look bad on the vehicle!) excellent year round performance.

However I am assuming these would not work with the 928's High Intensity wash system, since the PIAA wiper blades apply a silicone rainx style coating and the high intensity wash fluid is labelled as silicone remover?!

Wink

And that might be important to the eleven owners who still have the intensive wash system that actually contain the Porsche fluid.

Would actually make more sense to put the rainx in the intensive washer bottle...

Agree with Wally - even the original owners probably never topped it up with stock fluid.. Think of it as a backup tank more than anything else...

It was a legitimate query (since I am apparently one of the lucky 11 - system works and is always filled with the correct fluid, maybe it's easier to get hold of here?) and I would've liked to fit these blades to my 928..

However, for all of you who are not affected by this potential issue, I would definitely recommend the PIAA wipers - they really are very good, it's like applying a fresh layer of RainX with every wipe.

Bosch Icons installed last year - gives a more modern look.

So what is your feedback on the special silicone fluid - do you think its useful - for cleaning? for smear/film removal?

What is the main benefit - I never really understood Porsche's intent/expectation here? does it deliver? I assume so because you have refilled it...
