Great products. I used them to refinish my front spoiler that was damaged. Here is a link: http://semproducts.com/

I thought the first ones were anodized, the second version on the S models were powder coated, then the next ones were plastic.

I can't say you are wrong or right - all I know is that they were alu until some time around 89 or 90.

Well where my knowledge comes from is the repainting of a 84 MY and a 85 MY. When you are properly restoring a 928 you need to address all of the black exterior trim pieces. I initially thought they were painted but when I put paint stripper on them nothing happened, it required lacquer thinner to remove the coating, I had to buy around 10 litres and make trays to soak the parts and this removed the coating. The powder coater who did a superb job tried using his stripper but it wasn't overly effective, certainly a tough coating.

It's been one of the coldest winters here in a long time. We had an appointment for the paint booth on December 12th, but it was below 60 and raining that day. Needs to be over 68 to paint. There were only a handful of 68+ days through early March, and we weren't high enough on the paint booth pecking order to get a spot until early March. It got shot first week of March, and I took a 2 week trip to Missouri, coming home last Sunday, and the car was color sanded and reassembled in my absence. Got it back Sunday, got it smogged and registered today.

The seats go back in tomorrow - I took them out to prevent accidents to my precious black/blue vintage pascha.

Planning on making it down to Porsche week at Super Car Sunday in Woodland Hills next Sunday.

No, at some point you have to go with the recommendations of your painter, and he recommended not removing the bumpers. He claimed to have developed a technique for getting the paint applied appropriately without removing them, maybe just loosening them and pulling them away a bit? I don't know, but the results look great.

Thanks. For some reason I've been getting terrible gas mileage

Heading to Super Car Sunday in Woodland Hills bright and early tomorrow morning. It's Porsche day.
