Yeah, looks like you're dealing with the same problem I had - front end is about an inch higher than you'd like it to be.

I don't know if it's free length of the spring or spring strength or what year they changed, but you need S4 springs.

I wasn't being sarcastic. I think the ride height looks about right. Have you measured it, or do you just want it lower?

When I put Bisteins on my '78, the front end was about 2 inches higher than that!

FWIW, my 84 Euro has M474 (Bilsteins), and the front shocks are the green non-adjustable variety (the rears are gold, adjustable). It's an early 84, and as far as I can tell they are original as from factory. My springs have green and white paint markings. The front of my car seems to be right about where it should be – a bit low if anything.

I'll bet your 84 originally had the non-adjustable Bilsteins, and the springs to go with them.

resurrecting an old thread...

what would the impact or effect be if the adjustment nut was upside down?

thx

The suspension will be about an inch higher than it is supposed to be, and it makes adjustment much harder.

Also if only one of the adjustment nuts is upside down, as it was in the case of my car, it doesn't handle well for obvious reasons.
