Yes that looks familiar! I can see yours is taller than mine - the bend can be closer to the switch... But then the bolt is very awkward to get in - still it rarely will come out.

BTW at waytek you can buy spare keys and plastic covers - so if you cut down the key flush (with a screwdriver slot cut in) as I did you can cover the whole thing up.

PS. I was able to open up the crimped end, pull out the braid, use a Dremmel tool to clean the inside and brain, then stick it back in and recrimp in a vise. Worked until I replace with a new one.

I just ordered a few from Waytek this morning; I only need 1 but didn’t want to pay the “$5.00” handling fee for orders under $35.00 so I got 3.

I was looking for this on Waytek's site, but no luck. Do you by chance remember the part number or description of that strap?

Even cheaper than Waytek! - $ 8.00! At this price it probably should be an automatic change out. Might fix a lot of phantom electrical problems. If nothing else,
it's new & you can clean the positive terminal too while you're there.

Yes what Dan was asking about were the short 2AWG braided straps made up with flat 5/16 terminals crimped on on each end.

I'm not sure, but don't the pre '86 cars take a battery that is longer? It looks like you have a lot more room behind your battery then my 86.5 with a group 48. Someone here would know more about it.

Anyway, Problem solved- $ 8.75-

Brillman has some 19" ones which would be too long, but you could adjust the length by making
a "U" in it just behind the battery- wouldn't take much.
