Beautiful ride. Any interior photos? Do you have the light tan seats and white carpet?

I agree, perhaps it's a matter of "do as I say and not as I do." In this case the seller's 100% positive feedback and the excellent AutoCheck score gave me the confidence to go ahead. That plus my fear of someone else hitting Buy It Now before me...

Another factor was that I did something like this before once - bought a '67 Mustang on eBay and drove it back from Arkansas (click here for pictures). In that case the car had a lot more issues than I expected, but I still made it home and had a great time!

I like those very light interiors and remember sitting in one in the showroom back in the eighties. But this car has a dark blue interior which is growing on me. Looks very classy - I almost feel like I should be wearing a suit or something!

I promise to take some interior pics when I finish the stereo install I'm doing. I probably should have taken some with the Blaupunkt Stuttgart still in place...

[edit: see post #72 for interior pics]

I agree new motor mounts do make a very big difference in the overall smoothness of the cars ride. Very nice! I love the color.

Come on guys, really? The second pic shows the whole interior color scheme.

Anyways, Allen that's a beautiful car and I love the pic of driving, one of the best I have seen on the forum that shows the view only a 928 owner can see of the coolest headlights and most effective instrument pod. The pic really shows the nips on the headlights. Enjoy. I bought mine the same way.

Looks like you found a good one. I was 928-less for a number of years, but not 22. Welcome back!

Thanks again for inviting me! It was cool seeing your engine getting put back together and then broken in and tested.

But the best part might have been the drive to Sears Point and back, my longest trip in the 928 since the new tires and motor mounts. Weather was great and the car felt wonderful. Enjoyed the new RMB in the MacArthur and Rainbow tunnels and crossed the Golden Gate Bridge (twice).

One thing I forgot to mention in post #28 about CT Automotive is that ever since the motor mount replacement, the steering wheel is not quite centered when driving straight ahead (the top of the wheel is at roughly the 11:30 position instead of 12). Was this likely caused by disconnecting and reconnecting the steering input shaft to the rack? And if so, how hard is that to fix? My previous experience with steering wheel centering has been limited to either remounting the wheel itself or adjusting tie rod sleeves.
