Jim M's is the best I have seen. He used the cargo boxes out of a Mazda RX7. They are top loaders.

I snagged a set on ebay for $20 some time back and just need to get around to the job.

As others have noted, I used Mazda RX7 storage compartments and with one square yard of matching carpet I covered all the necessary areas, including the new carpet on the storage compartments. The total was a weight savings of almost 15 lbs, when you consider the weight of the retractable seat belts in the back and the seat backs and hinges themselves. The cut outs for the rear speakers is just construction tubes from Home Depot, fiberglassed to a masonite board. I used all original mounting points so no new holes were dilled in the floor pan.
