Sean. I didn't cut the little aluminum tabs off the bottom. Unless you mean the early cars had a two piece shroud and the lower shroud fit under the middle tabs that I have circled in red. I cut off the tabs circled in red.

Those are what Sean was talking about - they hold the shroud for the pusher fan in place. Like you and many others, I just cut them off as they interfere with the S4 shroud

I had a copper and brass radiator made with new end tanks. Used my coolers and crimped the tubes for better cooling. It is heavier and repairable if need be. Oh yea $600.00

no, no. . . make that quaker state. and get me some three-in-one oil and some gauze pads to prep that fetzer valve.

It is super-easy to cut those tabs off. I used a hack saw and it literally took 15 seconds per side.
