Default Wheel Fitment

Will 993 Turbo Twist wheels fit on a 1988 S4?

The wheels are as follows:
Front: 18" X 8" wide, 52 mm off set
Rear" 18" X 10" wide, 65 mm off set

Getting mixed messages, from reputable sources. I have heard they will, I have heard they will NOT fit. I am sell ing these wheels and a 928 S4 guy likes the wheels...but NOT if they don't fit.

Yes they will, need spacer ~25mm with bolts in the spacer on the rear to fill the wheel well better.

They will fit and they will look really good but the real question is whether you would want such front wheels on your 928. For street driving/cruising probably acceptable but if you are pushing it to the limit my experience suggests that they are not so desirable with that [limited] front offset that basically eliminates the 13mm of NSR that Porsche designed into the steering geometry.

This is why 911 wheel sets are generally not ideally suited to the 928. As a loose statement the offsets are the wrong way round. Ironically your rear wheels might just fit up front on a 928 with a 265 section I run a 265 on a 9.5 inch x 68mm offset but it would be "tight".

I ran my rear 10 inch 60mm offset wheels on my late S4 with no spacers and a 285 section. On my GTS chassis I use a 24mm spacer instead of the stock 38mm spacer as the tire was awfully close to the fender with a 285 section. With my current 295 section I reckon it would rub.

Regards

Fred
