For 59 grand, I'd buy the Aston! I suppose that's easy to say since I have a 928. FWIW, I've shifted enough gears in my life, I prefer the automatic.

Yes - auto or manual was the same cost. When the GT was the manual option

There's a small cadre of collectors for the 928GT and although they have some money, it's not like the Ferrari or Lambo owners who can drop $60k on a set of shocks and brakes.
I don't think 639 was listed on the 90-91's, mine doesn't have it and I know of other GTs without it as well. Less sure about the 89's, but I think most, if not all, had it that year. As you've suggested, I'd proceed cautiously on any 89 without it.

Default This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available.

Interesting... hopefully it "sold" at a respectable price.

Since it was a dealer's auction, I'm sure if it did sell (locally), it was close to, somewhat, the asking price?

He didn't disclose the selling price, but said, he did sell it...

Just a tad over my budget. I,ll need to stay at the mid lower entry level DD ownership.

Would be nice to daily drive that 89GT for the next 10 years.

What I see is a nice low mile GT, desirable year - but otherwise nothing really special in terms of options... I'd be really surprised if it sold for the asking price.

If there were really any issues at all (AC etc) for that ballpark money I'd pass - everything should be fixed on it to ask top dollar...

I'd pay that for a similarly low miles 94/95 GTS... (and basically did 12 years ago) - but I would not for this one...

I really like the 928 GT's, but this GTS is nicer in my mind, just because I really prefer the sport seats

This is not the same car, as the serial number is different.

This car came from Kansas and I spoke with the owner a few times. Was selling for much less than Willhoit's current asking price. Looks like a great car.

Listed as in NJ. Was the GTS garaged above the water line? Are those pictures from before or after Sandy?

I do not cast aspersions: for the next decade those are questions that need to be asked about any car that lived in NY/NJ in late 2012.
