Purpose of the ripples on the throttle plates? I assume to improve airflow/reduce restriction at mid-range?

Hate to think of the $$$ there, but would love to hear about the performance.

agreed....however the "cost effective" answer for 16V is to modify existing ITB from Suzuki GSXR 750-1000's from 2002-7....50mm tapering to 47mm with 1 injector each.....on ebay all day for cheap....made WAY over 100hp/L on the bikes too

And the cost effective way for the 32v engine is to install E39 M5 ITBs as per the below video...

www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_W68SpSQMk
Comfortably with USD1800 as a complete kit with trumpets and linkage. Just add injectors...

I understand the mindset of "Cheap and Easy" is like a religion with bravado that scoffs at such old fashioned ideas such as workmanship and design. I'm still drawn to finely crafted machines in the same way I came to Porsche 928s in the first place.
I won't say anything more about modern society's trend toward "Cheap and Easy", it could really snowball into a juicy topic that's more about society than Chevy motors and adapted ITBs.

My ITBs are designed for the 928. They are sized for a "ported" 928 head and have a transition into the port shape and a straight runner with optimal taper. The taper itsself and trumpet shape are very important and I know from experience how they must be.

Any adapted setup is using ITBs from something else is too small for the 32v 928 and have compromises because they use adapters.

You are not going to get a better set of ITBs for the 928 than these. I may make 2 more sets in the future if someone wants to create a serious machine.

Mike what would be great to understand would be to performance improvement expectation for the following 5.0L setups:
- stock 5.0L with stock exhaust
- Stock 5.0L with larger exhaust and headers (a la Doc Brown's)

Are there any different tuning considerations with this set-up?
