What's up,

My '88 had holes (perforated) in the leather seat center cushions.



My '89 does not have the same (perforated) holes in the seat center cushions.



Does anyonne know why this is? I am trying to clean and condition the seats for my '89 and the centers are like cardboard. I am just trying to figure out why they were different.

FWIW the seats look original in the '89.

Neither set of seats were heated.

One is the perforated "Comfort" seat and the other one has the optional - at extra cost - smooth leather "Comfort" seat. Either way do NOT use any silicone based products to clean/and or soften your leather. Check out on-line ColorPlus, Leather Magic or other leather restoration products for their cleaner and softeners.

Back in 1989, there was an option called "soft look" leather which was gathered. No perforation for this treatment.

Did any one notice a difference in the interior size between a 1988 and a 1989? I could have sworn my 88 had a different amount of space, the 88 in my one I sold had a phone in the back seat (car phone) I thought it was cool. I wish i still had the car phone setup.

M980 Raff leather came available in '88 MY and was optional until end of GTS production.

Looks like that may also be I980.

Ixxx is just other way of saying Mxxx. For some reason PET lists some options with I prefix. It causes problem in finding explanation in software.

M158 is Blaupunkt radio. Which model it is depends on MY and possibly for what market car was made for.
