quick help?
Something as simple as replacing window switches takes me a couple of days. Now that I have that all done, I'll tackle something that will only take a day or so like cleaning the windshield. For all you young guys (young being defined as any age below seventy) that should take you no more than an hour or two.
I am reluctant to fully embrace modern technology. Personally I think mankind was better off in the days of spending an evening reading by kerosene hurricane lamp versus wasting so much time with video games and internet surfing.
Yes, I do have a basic cell phone but rarely use it. It has no internet, no touch screen, and it even has a block on text messaging. The only reason I have it is because I drive old vehicles and you never know when you may need to call AAA.
Even if I had the latest and greatest “miracle phone” I might use it for a quick response but I think I’d wait for a computer with keyboard to compose a thread starting question.
I am not condemning technology, just reflecting on how out of hand it can get. After all, here I am on an internet 928 technical forum.
So, for the technical part.….. As mentioned earlier, connect a 12 volt battery direct to the motor leads. It should run. Reverse the polarity (wires) and it should run the other direction. If not, the motor gear assembly needs attention.
If you are getting new upholstery, carpet, seats, etc., I’d assume the seats will be out of the car. There’s no better time to completely go through the mechanisms and clean, repair and lube everything.
