I guess there are only around 5 928 left in Hong Kong. I personally know 1 928GTS owner only, he is a nice gentleman from UK. 982 design was way ahead of its time, it doesn't look like a car from more than 20 yrs ago. It is a head turner, peoples take photo of it or talk to me and want to know more about it whenever I drive it out. Especially when I put my head lights up, just so unique.

Wow only 5 928 in Honk Kong that's a very low number, i bet you get people to ask what it is often because of the rarity

Maybe not* but then you could go for the other grade they do and which Opie actually recommended to me...Pro S 10w50.

I posted about it to Leon Speed in his oil thread a few weeks back about the lack of available Xw50 oils in Europe but it probably sunk without trace among all the bickering and arguments.. All I can say, without agitating the oil debate further, is that from all the research I've done - to satisfy myself & make my own informed choice - it's good oil, full ester synthetic, good HTHS, it's got the zddp content, and I know of a few 928s, my own included, that run it.

* although this clearly hasn't affected his father, who has owned a 928 S4 for 10+ years now and and his been running this oil in it for at least 5 of them.. put it this way: I like the idea of a restaurant where the staff are happy to eat their own food

No it didn't i did check Opie oils and I did find the Silkolene/Titan oils, but I am slow in determing which oil I finally need. I am now leaning towards 10w-50. Gears in my head turning slowly and all that

We purchased a 2nd hand 928S4 engine from a 1990 Japanese import ( 1/2 cut ) for parts about a year ago , the cams were very badly pitted & the hydraulic lifter faces were the worst I have ever seen .
We sent the cams over to Carl at 928motorsports to be repaired & we threw the lifters out , the crank thrust bearings were trashed , but luckily they had not completely worn through to the crankcase , so we were able to save the crankcase .

The engine had came out of a 928S4 that had around 45,000kms & I knew it had been on a low viscosity low oil film strength so called synthetic engine oil back in Japan .

We just do not see this low km wear rate normally if these engines are on a decent oil film strength engine oil here in Australia , like a 20w-50 with decent ZDDP , in fact we see no wear at all , even at 300,000kms + with high oil film strength 20w-50 engine oils
