boy I wish I could herman, already planned steelhead fishing in washington around that time....hope you guys have a great time!!

Mr Simard... the car was dying at stop signs after stumbling really bad....for the last couple months and finally had time to get it checked out, and you were right the o2 sensor was not the real culprit!!

update.....o2 sensor bad but stumble was caused by too lean and isv at 100 %duty cycle(at idle with ac and in gear) ,,,the tuner richened up the cells and stumble gone but with the isv at 100% duty worries me I guess....
do you think this should concern me,,,,,should I get a bigger (if there is such a thing) isv so I have more a margin .??

there is a problem if its at 100%.... maybe just adjust the stop on the ITBs to be opened ever so slightly more...

I asked the tuner about that and he said it would not be optimal to do it that way but didnt really answer the question if I needed to get a bigger isv.....he said and did get it to idle very good now with it in gear and with ac on. I have a heap of respect for buidlers and tuners!!!!

If you open up the butterflies some, the ISV will then not have to open as far, to maintain the idle speed.

Andy:

A Uni-Syn or similar device will allow you to get all the individual butterflies flowing the same amount of air and set the idle speed. The good thing about ITBs is that they flow more air. The bad thing is that there are eight butterflies that all need to work together to flow that air, instead of one. Those eight butterflies are fairly "stable" but they do change slightly, over time.

Does he have a uni-syn or similar?
If so, the process is easy and your ITBs are designed to be intuitive to adjust and built with robust parts so as not to change over time.
The idle adjustment is seperate from the main adjustment.

First set the idle, then have the throttle linkage pull so that it's just above idle and still within range of the sync tool. Each of the "pulling" linkages can then be evened.

This is the most satisfying automotive job in the whole world to do, the beyond-zen feeling of the process could be described with words that only Kevin Johnson knows.
I'd be glad to walk you through it on the phone if that helps.
