Annoying squeak from front suspension
When I drive over a speed bump my front suspension has an annoying squeak.
Initially I suspected it was something to do with the Devek bar that is fitted. We checked the drop links for pre-load whilst sat on its wheels and that does not seem to be the problem.
Anyone experienced similar symptoms and solved the problem? Maybe it is the lower A arm rubber bushes that have aged? Does anyone offer refurbished items?
Regards

I believe the link joints are heim bushes- I usually call those things "Rose joints" [rightly or wrongly].

The end links in Carls rear swaybar kit need oiled now and then or they squeeeeak this high pitched noise. Bout once a year in weather free Norcal.
Good ones have Nylon internals (Ott links), and shouldnt need oil often/ever, but they are open to grit..which is why a normal OEM ball joint has that rubber cap.

These "boots" keep the "heims" clean & lubed.
You can either use the 2 pc ones that seal from the sides or if there is room a one pc boot.
click on the part # to see them in a larger pic.( Part # is size)

I had a terrible squeak on my 84 due to a torn (dry socket) on my upper A-arm. I'd check the A-arm and lower ball joint boots to see if they're torn/full of grease.

My experience in this part of the world is that these rubber covers do not last long due to heat [the bad] however, because we are "dry" most of the year [and when it does rain it is so bad and chaotic you do not go out unless you have no choice- especially not in the 928] even when gaiters do go, the impact is minimal as water is not there to wash in and thus create a grinding paste [the good]. I ran my track rods ends like this for years with no detriment. changed them recently because I had them and could not tell a scrap of difference in the steering response.

A rod end bearing, also known as a heim joint (N. America) or rose joint (U.K. and elsewhere).. had to google it

For sure I am going to grease the rose joints and the sway bar bushings assuming I can get at them OK [no problems for the drop links].

My front would get a squeak every so often and dissappear.. I traced it to the lower frt ball joint going. It took about 2-3 weeks to located where it was coming from. Jacked the car up a couple inches and then put a pry bar under both front tires and pulled up...the pass side moved ever so slightly and the drivers was dead on..replaced the pass side and squeak was gone! hope this helps you find yours.

To be clear we were not looking for this particular problem at the time.

Passenger lower ball joint was the source of my squeak when I first got my car too. It looked OK and was structurally strong, it just squeaked. Not a sound since I replaced them both.

Just sayin, since it took awhile to find it and the shop had earlier eliminated the ball joint as it felt tight and true. But the movement was almost not even noticable... but hope you find your cause...
