Nice to see that Carl's gears are standing up to testing.

We now have over 5000 miles on our test set with no issues and the miles are climbing fast.

Mine will be $300 each v the $400 each for factory.

I may be able to drive the price down further if I buy 200+ so maybe looking for a group buy once I get the price right.

It's even more sad when members don't question claims and just take what they are told, even when what they are told are total fabrications. If you have a problem with something I post, PM me about it.

I'm glad that Carls got these gears out there and are being tested, a lot of what he does has worked well and I've told him so. There is also quite a bit I wouldn't consider installing on a car, these gears are one of them.

Ive got about 10k on yours under test. Had to look at something else before I left on vaca, had a cover off, looked great!

Two trips to seattle & back and 110mi/day driving for work locally since installed.

Both sets from both vendors are nice.

Everyone here should be happy as hell that people take the time and RISK to develop products to keep these cars going. They should be encouraged and congratulated when they succeed. It is wonderful that there may be 3 viable alternatives for these gears when at 1 time there was concern that there may be none.

Remember the old saying about putting ones eggs in a single basket. Nothing lasts forever. We never know what might happen and things can change in an instant. The "Big Three" have changed Big Time and any health issue or some other circumstance can change it again overnight. I wish all have success and continue to succeed.

When it comes time for me to get back into buying parts, I will try to use all the vendors as long as they deliver what they say they will. I wish we had just a little more cooperation to the point that they would pressure Koni to make us the FSD shock or drop them for another shock for the 928.

TV,

Where's the risk? Carl never offered to pay for fixing anyone's car should these be used and something fail. And I never expected the gears to wear. I expected the belt teeth to have premature wear which won't be visible without removing the belt.

Risk = spending one's time and money just to open a business (licenses, insurance, rent, etc.....), and specifically in this case the R&D and the purchase of X number of gears to sit on the shelf hoping to be purchased, plus the ad money paid to rennlist. All that **** adds up. (even the trademark of the business name, mentioned in a previous thread) BTW any business can be sued if someone feels they have a case. My guess is that Carl and Roger both have a lot of money tied up in these gears and both have done their best to produce the best possible product as efficiently as possible.

Easy to be a critic, a lot harder to actually make something. I have made products in other area's and it involves a lot of hard work and effort. Look at the effort going into the retro PD wheels, will any of these efforts bring any reward, who knows, but hopefully the criticism will be constructive. I would say we are lucky to have honest, hard working people trying to improve conditions for the ownership of these cars and not fly-by-night get rich quick types.

Amen

I appreciate all the work ALL the vendors do to keep our cars functioning. As the Porsche pricing continues to increase for our parts, I expect I will be depending more and more on our vendors.

Cheers
Glenn
