I'll get a video burnout soon. Dinsdale's fingertip is looking really good after only 15 days. T

In about three posts, we'll hear that Hack did the _original_ "cut off the finger" mod way before he did.

Where'd he go, maybe working on that TUV issue that landed in his mailbox...

I don't know of a single OB "S" aero open road racer in the US that had broken 160mph once....EVER..... I recall a BUILT racer hit 155mph in the traps....then overheated....
This pic was taken going up a slight LH incline in Northern NM. There was at least 8 KMPH more before the pic was taken, on the flat.

Guys, not to brag but I have burie the speedo many times on multiple s style 928s. I love the shark at speed. I will go so far as to say it handles better. She is steay and the steering tight. If you happen fart and get distracted, you can easily over steer and get into trouble quick. But if you concentrate, she will reward you well. {Please note I am not advocating this kind of driving for anyone not on a long track!}

remember speedos are off........always on the low side.....for example my old M3 would hit a limiter at an indicated 170mph.....but GPS said 161mph.....

We don't break the speed limit here in Texas, although the limit is pretty much higher than any other place.

Glad to see Dinsdale's booger hooker is healing up well.

I am wondering, will the vette 6 spd transaxle work with a SBC in there? I mean, is it the same process, or would it be more simple to mate the vette trans to a sbc given both chevy and all.

Note: Just Peachy will be running the complete GM LS3, T-56 swap. Dinsdale's 82 4.5 Porsche motor is matted to a GM T-56 6spd. T

Ledee, Piranha Bros. can do what ever you want. Complete Vette drive train. Porsche engine/Vette trans. LS engine/porsche trans. Toyota UZ engine/ either trans. Heck, we'll put a rocket motor in it if thats what you want.

very cool. I am considering doing a 350 sbc with single or twin turbo. will the vette 6 spd hold that kind of power?

What kind of power, Why bother with old school SBC's unless your on a budget. Just Peachy is getting a LS3 525-crank hp hooking into 04 Z06 trans/diff. LS site claims these units are good for 600+ crank hp. Some of the drag racers are running stock T-56 & TR 6060 with drag slicks & running in the 9's in the 1/4. T

I would reconsider the SBC vs. an LS-based engine. They are worlds apart, and the LS platform is MUCH better. A "built" (RPM/DTE) transaxle and diff will handle whatever you want to throw at it.

T56 is VERY strong......you rarely hear of them breaking even in extreme HP cars.....twin turbo vettes-vipers rarely blow trans, they seem to blow rear ends much more often....

A friend has a full race 1995 Trans Am with a built LS 422ci engine that makes almost 700whp all of it put through a STOCK T56.....as in the 1995 T56.....nearly 3500lbs with that type of power and 12" wide slicks....no issues

Even the strongest 928 trans (GTS) would last literally minutes with that type of power & weight
