New Product: Rebuilt Clutch Intermediate Plates

I’m into VIN 0012 on this go around. The clutch showed its failure in the usual fashion…having to shut it off for first or reverse. This presented itself suddenly, it worked fine, then it didn’t.
The only clutch work I did in this car was change the slave, and the clutch has worked well for a couple of years now.
The master was weeping into the car a bit so I pulled it… original from February 77! So new master, hoses, pipe, and a full 18mm of throw on the arm. Still dragged so out it came. Shaft was dragging in the pilot bearing, which was fully seized….this is what caused the symptom. I could rattle both discs with the clutch pedal depressed but I couldn’t turn them! The release bearing was really loose and the circlip was worn down to a thin wire, the bearing itself sounded like it was packed with gravel, and I could move the h adjusters with my thumbs, it’s kind of amazing that it worked at all and would have soon come apart in a spectacular fashion when the cir-clip gave out. The discs were not that old meaning someone had all this worn stuff out and put it back in. I’m going to re-use the release arm… that’s about it.

I think that will prove to be interesting...

MrMerlin's advice was to trim the slave rod to allow more fluid to push the more fluid into the slave. Hope I have that right.
