I disagree with EVERYTHING said above.. Especially the notion that I'm getting cranky. Old maybe, but I'm still the same sweet guy I've always been. They rest of you though...

Actually this place is more mild than it was years ago. There has however been a fair amount of turn-over in the last couple years. (I would like a few people back that used to spice up the place and add some laughs -- sniper, normy)

But society in general has some issues -- so many people have grown up on the gravy train and now it has derailed with an incompetent driver at the wheel (plus the 1 before), w/o major league changes we are headed towards Greece style upheavel.

There are more new people who are drawing negative attention by being immediate jerks, lazy newbies or both.

Old and cranky? Me? *(&^&%^%$!

I don't post very often. My car still drives strong.

Any crankiness from me is prolly just natural old guy crankiness, not 928 induced crankiness.

Some guys here have the forced induction crankiness, stage 1 or stage 2. That is their business and their bragging rights.

Be grateful it's not a Honda forum... there you get a bunch of idiots and a couple guys who know what they're talking about. Here is quite the opposite, i like the fact that the majority are guys over 40. Instead of making fun of you for not knowing something or being a newbie, they correct you with good information and welcome you. Also here it's not as big of a pissing contest, you do get "those guys" here too, but not as many.

what makes ME cranky is rennlisters selling their well maintained, low mileage sharks for less than i think my project car is worth. Or even worse - asking less than what i spent just getting mine running again. Grrrr!

I think the Forum is a very reasonable place. I have gotten absolutely golden advisement from not many, but all, that assists me in taking great care of the car. I find there are no surprises here. At the far end of the bell curve, you will find the ill spoken. From the apex of the bell, to the high end, there are civil decent men.

Baby boomers are the youngsters that had everything given to them. That's how they were able to get all of those nice 928s. Us depression kids had to rob banks (in Germany during WW2) to get ours.

Default That...

That, in and of itself shows inteligent planning..,,,
If you'd have waited until after the war, hyper inflation would have killed your margins.....
Good show!
Bite me. I'm one of those boomers you refer to. Apparently last of the pack according to the demographics....
How freeping old are you anyway?????

I'm just past the south end of the boomer generation. I'm cranky, but usually only at work. I find that this forum brings me back from ripping someone a new one almost daily. When things get really bad at work, and I'm not in the middle of a fire, I'll pull up this forum. I'll either get my learn on, or find something funny that makes my day. Either way, it works for me!

That's me. Golden Spoon, better for sure than the silver spoon kids. Had to actually work to support myself. Paid for my own education, well, me and the citizens of Kalifownya did. Worked, paid taxes, lived within my income. Bought a 928 when the opportunity presented itself. Just scrawled out a check for the darn thing out of my miscellaneous toy and entertainment slush fund account. It's still a toy. Yeah, I'm a boomer. Child of depression-era parents. Don't borrow for anything less than real estate, since land will survive another depression. What's yer point?

Yeah, I'm still old and crabby. Fat and balding, the hair that's left is white and has been for decades. So what? I drive an old 928, and my neighbor's kids drive new leased Bentleys, BMW and Benzes. I've obviously made the wrong choices in life. I still get to drive an old 928.
