Default Looking for a key

I will cut right to it, does anybody have a spare key? The key to my '79 has been lost and i don't have a spare. I have the switch and tumbler taken apart and am ready to try the rekeying process. So does anybody have a spare and how much do you want for it?

Thanks,
Brandon

Call 928 International.
They cut keys to copy. Maybe they can help.

Oooo...been there. But I had the little cardboard impression that came with the car. Took it to Champion Porsche, $100 bucks later, new key. Then I found the other one!

Just a reminder to everyone who still has a key to their 928: Take a good photo of the key! That way, you can at least have a new key made later.

I keep one original long key in the safe.
The short little valet key with the red top stays in a slick compartment in my wallet with the AAA plastic key for my F-250 (that's why I bought that particular wallet).

PM me if you still need one. I think I may have a spare.

Thanks everyone. I decided that i would go ahead and order new bits and now have a key and tumbler set on the way. I can take my time and rekey the doors and hatch but decided to save myself a little hassle and hopefully get a better locking mech.

edit; Nevermind - just read the last couple of posts Good luck with your new key.. I'll stick this one back in the drawer and try to remember its there next time someone needs a randomly cut 928 key

Did you get a key?

If not, PM me your address - I realised I've got an extra "short" (non-alarm) key with a Porsche red head on it sitting in my desk drawer.

It doesn't fit either of my 928's - it came with a 928 I used to own, and fitted just the passenger door. I re-keyed that car so all the locks opened to the original key, so this one is just dead weight.

The key head looks like this: (except the key is cut).
