Ok, here and there I see guys post threads on how their new consul they designed worked out or the window swtich pad someone built, but what would be kinda cool or at least I think is like the modern Porsches, the led tail lights, anyone make em for the 928s?

http://www.superbrightleds.com/index.htm

you can find the bulbs you need to swap into your tail light housings,
they already have the resistors built in,
make sure to do each side of the car with the same bulb or the warning system will go off

Fixed it for ya'...

On the LEDs... there are the LED bulbs that can be used, but require a special flasher relay (for turn signals) or a special resistor for them to work properly. Nicole at Hooked-On-Cars can assist with those items.

Now, to have the individual LED bulbs that light in their appropriate color through clear lenses (but otherwise stay invisible)... that would be awesome and would entail a complete, ground-up redesign of the individual light housings themselves. A MAJOR investment in time & money that may not even see any profit whatsoever -given the limited market.

But yeah, that would be freaking cool.

FWIW there is a safety benefit of LED taillights. They turn on much quicker than incandescents, and could actually reduce the likelihood of a rear end collision. I don't remember the statistics, but I've seen actual numbers on following car stopping times previously in an automotive LED lighting market report.

Yes, I work on commercial fishing boat and catch squid and our new led light do make people see us better for our safety, brighter and less energy, helps in all ways, but true about the classic look but other put pads and new consoles and shifters ect too

Hey OP, are you accomplished with PhotoShop? If so, give us an image of what you're looking for. It doesn't have to be pretty but it would be nice to have a visual reference of a youthful view of the 928.

Without hooking up with an existing aftermarket lamp manufacture, cost of development would easily exceed startup capital costs.

To get an AM Mfg. interested would require a market potential greater than what the 928 market can offer. This would be the only way they might consider fronting capital tooling costs; if the volume of market can justify it.

In other words, the reason the lamps pictured work is because the volume of potential sales warrants to cost of mfg. for a established company which can absorb cost of production.

Sorry to be a buzzkill. This would be a BIG for project anyone other than those with expendable funds and/or no desire to exceed break-even.
