Default Methanol Injection Ideas?

Is anyone (mainly the "Boostards") running a Meth Injection system? Just curious on thoughts for where to port the injection. My car is an 86.5, thus the big pipe organ plenums. I was thinking of 1 port 6 inches before the throttle body. Should the injection be before or after the MAF? What about 4 ports into the Plenum? 2 on each side to try an even out spray to all cylinders. Give me some ideas guys/gals.
Thanks!

Lol, i started a similar thread. Search is your friend. I think your car uses LH-Jetronic, so hot wire MAF. You can't inject it pre-MAF because it will distort the MAF wire resistances too much and send an incorrect or inconsistent signal voltage, plus the mix might accelerate deterioration of the MAF. To get benefits (the main being the ability to advance ignition timing in N/A motor) you would need to Sharktune or otherwise reflash the EZ-K module chip to reflect the addition of meth/water injection. Or you would have to run a speed density air mass system (using an IAT and MAP sensor), but that gets costly fast.

IMO a Sharktuner is also expensive... but not really considering what you can achieve with it. After all, scan tools are thousands of dollars for modern cars and they do almost the same thing.

Performance beneffits asside, i believe meth/water injection does wonders for decarbonizing your motor. I see that as a big plus in the 928 motors seeing as they have such bad stock crankcase ventilation and oil ingestion issues, especially the later large displacement models (S4, GTS) where stroke changed and thus it became a larger problem than before.

I am pretty sure your car has LH-Jet, but it might be L-Jet.

Don't know about the 86.5, but I put my main port after the MAF, about 5 inches from the throttle plate.
I don't think it would be good to spray through the MAF...

My car is LH-jet. I forgot about ruining the MAF wire. So scratch that. I have a Sharktuner so I can up the timing. But my real goal is just a safety margin for detonation since the earlier cars don't have knock detection. In thinking about how the plenum is laid out, I was thinking there could be some benefit in spraying into the plenums instead of the TB.

Are you happy with your results? 5 inches from the throttle plate seems the most simple for sure. Did you wick up the timing? What kind of power increases did you see? Running more boost?
Thanks,

It would be real easy on yours, I'd just tap in to the T junction above the TB and have at. Talk to Mike V about his set up, it's really cool.

We are having breakfast at the same place this Saturday, swing on by, I'm sure he will be there.

As for Sharktuning 17prospective buyer, it does way, way, way more than any other diagnostic tool around.

Thanks Sean! That's what I was thinking. Pretty simple to tap there. Just curious if any of the SuperCharger guys had done anything different. Baseball has started back up for my kids...............which means I probably wont be able to make it to the breakfast this weekend. I'll give KillaV a buzz though!
