Default Intercooled Twinscrew (Roots) Eaton upgrade

Since Fred, cfc928GT, decided to move up into the rarified atmosphere of GTS ownership I got his beautifully polished Intercooled Eaton M112 setup. This winter I plan on swapping it out for my non-intercooled unit. The initial plan will be to run 8-10 psi boost, 42 lb injectors (up from 30s) , stock FPR and fuel pump. Like the original Keel setup I will plumb it to the windshield fluid reservoir and then to heat exchanger(s) mounted it the front.

Before starting the project I wanted to get any recommendations, short cuts, warnings, etc. from you experienced intercooled guys. Any others?

Right now I have a couple of specific questions:
1.What coolant pump would you recommend?
2.What heat exchanger? Currently, I have two new Keel type HEs (pictured). However, I really like the extra capacity and mounting of the Ford Cobra one that some of you, Tony. Vlocity, Giovanni, Pizza... have used.

Thanks, Ralph

Thanks

I have a brand new cobra heat exchanger here, which I will gladly sell you for a price cheaper than anywhere else. Used it for some research, but went with a custom model instead.

For pump, use the lightning/jaguar pump available on ebay:

Hope that helps.

coming from the 300ZX Twin Turbo world (my other car is a 1990) gotta say I am not digging how those inlets and outlets change size so dramatically...

For comparison, the ones I have on my Z:

The HE that you have will work fine. I used mine for 6 years without any issues. I'm switching to a cobra HE like Hans is offering you to help clean things up.

As for the pump, I think what Hans has suggested is what I and just about everyone else uses. Pretty robust (so far).

Kenny,

The intercooler shown above is an air/water unit, unlike your air/air pieces. That's why the inlet and outlet look wierd to you.

Ralph,

Your system looks great, congrats!!

IF the HEX from Hans doesn't work out for you I can get you one of mine that I designed specifically for a 928 and clears everything correctly, including the S4 Cooling flaps etc.

The most I can get out of the M112 intercooled is ~8.5psi with a 2.25" upper pulley, good for approx. 420rwhp. That's why I'm looking to upgrade to an autorotor, I just need to get my *** in gear and materialize the upper intake and rear T-pipe.

Flip over your new Eaton and show us the intercooler box. If it's an original Keel box, the welds on mine split at the seams between the walls. This was after a couple of years of righteous fun. Gradually it seemed like it wasn't quite as much fun as before. Since I no longer had a boost gauge installed, I didn't know why and thought I was just getting old. So, I sold the SC setup. Then, when I pulled it out, I discovered why it wasn't so thrilling any more. When I installed it in the new owner's car, we put in an intact manifold. His car is a rocket.

Anyway, keep the boost gauge on the car.

Bill, I completely missed your post. Old age is setting in hard. Any rate, I found it yesterday and here are the pixs of my Intercooler. I see where the box is only skip welded to the bottom and the front end isn't weled at all. I am assuming Andy sealed it from the inside and maybe added some additional welds there.
Is this like yours? The good news is I have my boost gauge permently mounted on the A-pillar so I can see if it springs a leak.

these are a good upgrade. Made by Charles Pizzlato (sp) a few yrs ago. Ive had them sitting here for ages and just yesterday was doing some work on the car and decided to finally install them. I have one of the first Andy Keel manifolds and unfortunately these do not fit in mine. They are meant to replace the rubber grommets seen around the injectors in the picture and make a much better and more secure installation.

100 bucks shipped...i can send them to you first and if they fit use them and pay..if not, just send them back
