Default Tach signal.... what kind is it?

finishing the wiring and set up for my mega squirt conversion. the tach output wire is a square wave signal (so i have been told) but during cranking the tach on the dash does not move. so i was wondering if anyone here knows what signal out dash tach uses while stock?

thanks guys

I'm at the same point in my megasquirt conversion. I'm going to look at J11 this weekend to see if I can send the tach signal to the factory tach through that wire. It should be the connection that the stock ignition sends the signal to the tach.

Ask Tom M how he did it. Doesn't he have an older one with MS?
