Not sure if this is posting the obvious, but have any of you that are close friends to Dan picked up the phone and tried calling him???
He hasn't logged in since the original post, so unless he is lurking these posts/messages are not getting to him....or helping him in any way if that is what he needs.
Sometimes a single phone call and hearing a caring voice is worth more than a million forum posts.

Just give him some time to respond.
I follow his threads and posts, because he is very knowledgeable. He usually replies to once a day, late night PST.

I don't like the sound of what I've read so far.
I met Dan when he was on a trip to London back in about 2001 or 2. In response to a post of his on the Rennlist email list I picked him up from Tower Bridge tube station, (I recall he was concerned about being able to find each other and I don't think he realised that had there been another 928 there that would have been a medium to large miracle - Hey are you Jon ? err yes how many other 928s with drivers do you see parked around here ??? ) and took him to darkest deepest depths of South London for a local meet that turned out to be just Dan Brindle, me and and another guy called Dan. I think that Dan may well have been one of the first Americans to be driven in a a 928 SE and I am damn sure he is the 1st US citizen to be in the passenger seat of a 928 in the UK when it got a speeding ticket from a camera.
I have no idea what he thought of the small meet, but I was happy to have done my best to "entertain" one of our colonial cousins.
Back to his OP. If (as many others I fear the worst) then I would only offer this: In the few weeks before my father died I wrapped up his professional affairs under his guidance. The relief he experienced knowing that all these matters were out of the way and dealt with and not left behind was not measurable. Then if this is the intent of Dan's OP I would say "well done" one less issue for those left behind to be concerned about.
Having said that I sincerely hope that we all have completely misinterpreted your OP and you are just pissed with 928s and will go back to playing with Beetles or something.

Dan is my 928 mentor, and also one of my life's fine advisers. The guy simply knows about things.
My car would NEVER had it's engine transplant without his guidance and advice.
Dan, I am heading out your way mid October. I would be delighted to come by and help w/ whatever 928 needs you have, etc. I'll give you a call.
