Default Classic Car Club Discovery feat. Audi RS2 and Porsche 928 S4

Perhaps some people may have missed the link. I uploaded a video from the 2009 Discoverychannel show "Classic car Club" featuring the Audi RS2 and Porsche 928 S4. Enjoy

Decent-looking 928 SE in that article.

Given how tall the presenter looked, it probably worked in the 928's favour that it was an SE and thus had no sunroof

Thanks for uploading it.

Take a look at the Audi mirrors, which are very similar to Aero mirrors....

“Big plastic buttons for those big fat American fingers.” Obviously influenced by the BBC. Everyone knows it’s so our fingers don’t slip off the buttons while we’re eating KFC chicken in the car.

Well, I am just glad I discovered the same thing in 1991 and have been driving one ever since. I disagree with the heavy steering issue. My old 88 was a cream puff. It was so quiet you could hear nothing inside on the highway at 80 with the stereo off. My 86 has similiar steering but sounds a little more like a super car. The gearbox won't kill you if it breaks, I have an extra on the bench. However, it is good publicity. I truely believe that as the rich get older and larger (too big for the 911), these cars are going to explode in value in the next 20 years. (Those that are well looked after that is. LOL.)

Wow

Alan, the owner of that S4 SE in the film was the first 928 owner I met accompanied by his car after buying my SE. And even more wierdly I worked with the guy who used to own that Audi if I remember the rego plates correctly.

Have been looking for an SE for a while (and as the saying goes in the UK, you wait ages for a bus to come along, then three turn up all at once!)

First one was the Red one on UK eBAY a couple of months ago, I was the only bidder (much to my surprise) right up until the last minute, when I was subjected to a sniper bid from the US (I don't know you Roger, but good shooting mate)

Fortunately, this car came along, so got in quick, needs a few minor things done, but these will be sorted as soon as it arrives, car has 104,000 miles with full Porsche / Porsche specialist service history, original bar a couple of minor things which will be sourced (so if anyone knows the whereabouts of a Blaupunkt Toronto SQR46 in mint condition, would love to hear from you)

Then (as per my bus comment) the low mileage white SE came up for sale, I was negotiating with the dealer over a couple of weeks, was just about to commit to that car based on the price I was offered, wrote the email agreeing to purchase but got caught up in work stuff and didn't send it, that was the day he sold it to another lucky buyer! (Oh well, leaves me some money to buy something else).

I'll be speaking to Alan soon Jon, will let him know you are aware of the car coming over.

Will post a few photo's over the weekend.

Cheers
