+928 on all counts.

Some would argue it's the best 928 due to the lack of airbags/weight but modern dash...unless they had a 5 speed LSD 86.5 with the same mileage

Will be in France in late Sept. Be cool to find and have a look and take a few pics. Anyone know how to get hold of the owner? T

Road Scholars? I know those guys, or of them... 356 restoration specialists, among other things, in Raleigh NC.

That is certainly a nice car, but it needs to get out more!

You all can have it! Why own something that was ment to be driven, and just look at it. I've got cars, and motorcycles that are far rarer, worth more and I ride or drive them. Not everyday, but they do get driven.

Even Leno drives his Duesenbergs, and they're worth millions.

As compulsive as I am, I have to agree with Joe, it's kind of a shame it didn't get enjoyed. There is some value to the 928 community to have these time capsule cars to show the correct bolts, markings, etc., but it should have been driven! Doesn't Jay Leno have some sort of saying about restoring cars to 100%, then driving them back down to 70%, then restoring them again?

Its nowhere near last GTS made. IIRR there were 23 ROW 5sp GTS made after it and maybe 100 cars made when also automatics are counted.

Not until it has 928 Miles.

If I had the money I'd buy it and drive it every day.

Shows how much I know...

Thanks for the clarification.

It should be driven. And a few hundred miles a year isn't going to kill it's value. Improper storage might, however.

Certainly not in my league, but it would be fun to look at.

Personally I'm the use and abuse to enjoy it type, but can appreciate other's modality.

Thanks for sharing

This thread is like an enzo to the fifth power. This has been on here lots of times. Personally I still like the 6000 mile all black S3 from Philly. Not exactly an 86 16V Euro but not bad.

I have no opinion on driving such cars or not, but would mention the 1927 Bugatti that showed up at a car show in NH 1 year, driven with some mud splashes on it. The same show that Kermit was driven to before chuck had ever seen it.

Almost all the cars that were at OCIC, could be considered show cars, (except mine) and all were driven to the event. Every 928 owner knows that these cars will deteriorate if they aren't driven. If anyone here was to put 25% of the asking price, and spent it on their car, you would have a beautiful driver you could enjoy for years to come. And still have money left over to buy that other car you've always wanted.

I still don't understand those who buy a new car, and then put it away in a garage and never use it, to then sell it decades later for the price they purchased it for ... much less if you take interest in to account. There are a few collectors here in Tasmania who have a garage full of such cars, but hardly anyone ever sees them, and they're hardly ever driven.

I appreciate that this car has been kept as a reference to new condition, but it really belongs in a museum so we can all see it for that purpose.

My thoughts exactly. Well said.

Ranier had his "next to last" ROW GTS at Hunsruck this spring. I don't recall the mileage, but it was incredibly low. 100% stock, everything perfect AND he drives it. Great guy too... Sitting in it, I felt like a kid in a candy store. I can only imagine what it's like to see the one in the OP.

Funny, there were two cars trailered to OCIC. One was Tony77's beautiful car!

The other was Jerry Feather's Franken-GTS which was about as far away from a show car as one could get. No offense, Jerry.
