Absolutely beautiful, but almost $100K? I admire the optimism in the market, but that seems excessively expensive for a 23 year old car, even if basically brand new.

I've seen the car in person and it's amazing. I happen to think that it's worth every penny.

That car doesn't have air bags and the 89 GT didn't have tire pressure warning system. It also didn't come with any kind of electronic differential. The stealership selling the car doesn't have a clue.

Default VIN Detail

VIN: WP0JB092XKS861129

Motor: M28.47

Transmission: G28.55

Options:
M220 ... Locking differential
M383 ... Sport seat, left
M387 ... Sport seat, right
I393 ... Forged wheel 8JX16 and 9JX16
M418 .... Protective side mouldings
M474 ... Sport shock absorbers Bilstein .... Edit: Additional information confirmed by Errka ... Data sheet showing changes for MY89 GT note shocks as being Boges Sport ... Bilsteins on earlier cars
M481 ... 5-speed manual transmission
M570 ... High output air-conditioner
I639 ... 928 GT
M650 ... Sunroof
I691 ... CD-player CD-1 with radio

It's a beautiful car but I couldn't have it and not drive it.

I still don't understand those who buy a new car, and then put it away in a garage and never use it, to then sell it decades later for the price they purchased it for ... much less if you take interest in to account. There are a few collectors here in Tasmania who have a garage full of such cars, but hardly anyone ever sees them, and they're hardly ever driven.

I appreciate that this car has been kept as a reference to new condition, but it really belongs in a museum so we can all see it for that purpose.

super nice GT...I remember when it had "only" 326 miles....I recall it being for sale in a "package" of rare front engined water cooled Porsches.....944 Turbo S with silly low miles and also a 924 carrera GT or something

Well, it IS and '89 and it DOES have pretty much no miles on it... I know the owner...it is AS NEW AS THE DAY IT ROLLED OUT OF THE DEALERSHIP! I didn't read the ad, so there could be plenty of wrong info written in there, but don't be fooled, this is the real deal '89 GT! It comes from a private collection that is among the best in the WORLD for Porsche street cars (no race cars AFAIK). It has been for sale for years, but only occasionally does it actually pop up on a listing somewhere.

Brian, you and I posted at about the same time. You are quite correct!

What does age have to do with it?

Other cars from 1989 sell for 3-5 times this much all day long.

Extremely low mileages cars of all vintages, makes, and models attract a certain kind of collector.

Original mileage is the only part of a car that can never be (legally) restored.

IMO $100k is a bargain for a brand new Porsche 928GT.

Compared to this 993, the 928 is worth it.

I thought about what this GT would sell for if/when it came up for sale on the public market. My valuation was very close to the seller's asking price.

This 89GT is up there with the rarest of Porsche 928s.

Other notable of a similar level is the Porsche museum owned 928 GTS, midnight blue, last 928 produced.

Another is Perlglanz, the last 928 GTS produced for the US. Privately held overseas.

Yes, THIS car is on THAT level.

I think it's underpriced.

.
You party hard for one weekend-buy the car-forget where you park it. Go to a few AA meetings and rehab-and boom-you remember you have it-20+ years later!
