Default old clutch release bearing = OK?

Today I removed the clutch release bearing (= throw-out bearing??) from my '78 because I thought it was necessary to replace it because of old age and the fact that it did'nt look that good. After cleaning it I noticed it actually felt tight and it spun nicely with no sounds or rattling or "spots". Should I replace it anyhow or is this a situation of "don't fix if it isn't broken?". I have the experience with wheel bearings that you don't feel the wearing spots if you spin it by hand but it still may be worn. Any opinions?

Since it appears to have the ability to do the work is say reuse it. For customers who might pay up to $1k In labor for a clutch job I may say differently
