Judging from the driveway occupants it looks like the seller has one too many projects on his hands. Like 3 too many.

Selling the 928 and keeping the 914? The 914 must be for his wife, daughter or hamster...

That 928 is way overpriced. Not worth more than $1629.83

The seats don't look too bad, either. Sell those and get closer to the $500.00 mark.

got a boat load of photos from the guy.

exterior is pretty rough looking. Interior door cards have been mangled with missing speakers.

tb belt light is on.

Is there an American Wheeler Dealers -- they'd just repaint it and sell it for 3x.

Rusty cars in Palo Alto?

They don't salt roads there. It takes a lot to have a rusting car in the South Bay.

Sun + salt air + smog = surface rust.

Not the same as salted road rust but rust none the less.

May even be a greater indication of neglet as proper washing and waxing can prevent surface rust.

Salted road rust is much harder to prevent other than no winter driving.

The most common reason a 928 rusts is because previous body work was not done properly.

I suspect this is the same 86.5 we were discussing for $3300 a week ago. That is, unless there are two people named Derek in the Bay Area with blue/brown/tan 86.5 for sale who also has six other Porsches.

It looks like he has changed the location and now is not mentioning the potential cracked head. But the pictures are a little more representative of the condition this time around.

The mileage is right in line with the estimate I got from him (odo is broken). But, he told me the car didn't leak and he thought there was one little crack in the dash. So, if it is the same Derek, he is not being forthcoming.

Derek told me he was repairing the car for a customer who had never seen it but the customer never paid his bill so he was selling it.
