How to best dyno a 'Roger box'?
#19
Just in case any other newbie (like me) with a MY 1994 or 1995 "Roger box" wants to know what to do before going to the dyno and have a run done in 3rd-gear, hereby a few pictures and info for such.
Pull dynamic kick-down relay XVII from the CE panel (Porsche part number: 928 618 108 01):
As you can see from the MY 1994 schematics, no need to also unplug the kick down switch under the gas pedal as that is in series with the dynamic kick-down relay switch:
Take off the transmission bowden cable at the throttle quadrant (as per this thread instructions, otherwise you will get unwanted down-shifts):
Zip-tied safely on the side:
And then have fun with your dyno-run (that what can be measured can be improved :-) )!

So "Roger box" is just slang for an automatic transmission. I figured it had to do with an automatic but wasn't sure if it was some type of modified automatic.
Thanks. I'm now that much less of a noob. :-)
