Not yet, plenty of other things to do first before even considering such.

Okay, I'm asking a noob question. I've seen reference to a "Roger box" in a number of threads. I did a search but just couldn't seem to find the answer. What is a Roger box?

A Roger box - an automatic transmission.

Named after Roger Tyson who champions the auto as best suiting the 928.

Just in case any other newbie (like me) with a MY 1994 or 1995 "Roger box" wants to know what to do before going to the dyno and have a run done in 3rd-gear, hereby a few pictures and info for such.

Pull dynamic kick-down relay XVII from the CE panel (Porsche part number: 928 618 108 01):

As you can see from the MY 1994 schematics, no need to also unplug the kick down switch under the gas pedal as that is in series with the dynamic kick-down relay switch:

Take off the transmission bowden cable at the throttle quadrant (as per this thread instructions, otherwise you will get unwanted down-shifts):

Zip-tied safely on the side:

And then have fun with your dyno-run (that what can be measured can be improved :-) )!

So "Roger box" is just slang for an automatic transmission. I figured it had to do with an automatic but wasn't sure if it was some type of modified automatic.

Thanks. I'm now that much less of a noob. :-)
