Apparently I've committed some sort of faux pas by not giving details of my 928, so here goes.

1980 ROW 4.7 Litre auto 928s.

This is my fifth Porsche, but second 928.

Well, that wasn't so hard.

You can also find that information several times over in my Brembo Brakes thread and the Ebay SC thread.....as my lurker fan club already knows, but lets do things by the numbers!

Well, not right now...but I will do.

I'm still poking and prodding and getting it ready for a roadworthy certificate and registration where I am....plus after that I have to fit the 4 speed auto trans I recently picked up.

Of course, it's not in yet.......... I don't want to shoot my mouth off too much just yet....lets just wait and see. Will do the TT bearings at the same time probably.

Then comes the braking system getting sorted out....and then a SC...

Interior is ok, needs some work though, guess that's to be expected.

Well, bit of a funny story.....

Early 1990's.... I'd just bought a new 944s2 from Chateau. Bit of a funny story in itself as I showed up in my Motorhead t-shirt with a cheque for hmmm....think it was about $100k or so ?.......they didn't have my car ready in time...hehehe.....lots of frantic running around and apologising, anyway..

My other car was in for a routine service...2000km or something ? I forget.....and I was back in to pick it up and return their BMW loaner when they said "Hey, wanna take this here new 928 GTS for a spin?"..always with an eye for selling me another new Porsche, so I said sure !.....anyway, needless to say there was a bit of a kerfuffle when I came back down Glen Osmond Rd and tried to whip it back into the driveway across two lanes of traffic a bit too fast!

Still, that's what happens when 20yo's are behind the wheel...right ?

After that I switched to buying BMW's and Maseratis from Solitaire for a while....for some strange reason Chateau never offered again..... wonder why ?
