Default FS. 1979 US engine. 12,174 miles.

This engine has only 12,174 miles and has always been stored indoors. Tass said he heard it run 3 years ago and it sounded great. Could be a great drop in for an OB. $ 1,500 OBO. PM 77tony

honestly, not as much as you might think......78-79 engines are quite common, some of the highest produced 928's out there...so there are plenty of solid engines for super cheap prices...

Probably not much - if you send me a check for $250 I will gladly take it off your hands - shipping on you of course. 8>)

I really was not thinking big $ for a US 79, but hey, it only has 12,174 miles ! What's the approx cost of a rebuild ? T

Considering they last over 300K miles. Not many needs to be rebuilt. You probably think you have a gold mine sitting there and that's just isn't so. Post some pics, should at least look near new.

$7,500 absolute minimum. Average is over 10K.

I've got $1K for it. Probably worth much more though.

Recently acquired a 78 euro motor for $200.

Gave one away a while ago...

Low miles has got to be worth something, however.

Cool Pics

Tough crowd. I know it's not a euro motor, but hey, it's a very low mile US motor that could be put into an OB and could put a smile on someones face for a long time. The few pics below are worth 1,000 words. Greg, thanks for the bump. T

What would you want for it Tony? Its nice enough to find a worthy body for. I'm sure with just the age...it will still need resealing.

I hate to be the one to say this but the parts are worth more than the motor. For the record the euro and US motors are the same.

The front engine harness is worth a lot all alone. The REAL oil hose (with the coolant line inside ) to the intake which has been NLA for many years and for anyone showing a 78-79 it NEEDS to be there.
