The vast majority of the grey market 928s were purchased as used cars with some kilometers on the odometer then shipped to the US and federalized to some extent by the Labs which did the work. Quite rare for someone to buy and export one brand new but it did happen, just made for a very expensive 928.

Thank you very much for all the suggestions and comments. I have noticed already this forum is much much more than just 'hey look at me' posts you see on some car forums. The 928 subforum seems to have a real brotherhood about it, as users go out of their way to help each other. Big thumbs up

Here are some engine shots, I noticed already its missing some air cleaner straps (its loose too). Also the 'upper radiator hose' ? underneath feels worn from heat over the years should probably be replaced.

There are many things that should be checked, I am going to keep focused on your replies and try to get to everything. Thanks.

Nice, correct block # added vin plate on the latch panel behind the receiver. Plan on doing ALL the rubber coolant hoses especially the short stepped hose to the heater valve under the air cleaner.

Holy mother of god! The real-deal at a real deal. Good call, "worth" every penny. But if your counting pennies at sub $4K-in, then you don't belong with a Porsche of any kind.

But you are not, so you do!

Now - slow, methodical, smart- make it ultra reliable, safe and drive it.

That's a very clean engine. Excellent starting point!

As noted by others, do fuel lines and drive it a bunch

That engine bay looks really good. If you bought it looking that way then I would say that someone has shown it some love. Gunar

We have a winner! Looks clean. Love the big, oversize spider intake runners. How's the power?
