Good work on the GTS, please keep us fully up to speed on its progress because at the price being asked it will certainly need work, but it will be worth it!
I drive the 996TT across to the west coast of Florida once a week and always say thats the perfect tool for that task. I use my 85 928 around town all week and the Cayenne is the Costco and grocery getter. I'm hoping the GTS can do a little bit of everything. Should have the car in hand by end of week. And I never considered myself a Porsche guy...

As for needed services and repairs , I'll be OK as we can do all of the needed servicing or paint work in house. I just hope the rear ac is of better use then in my 91 S4. In that car when I turn on the rear unit the front unit isn't quite cold enough.

^^^^^^^
If you can do the work in house you are good to go! Be sure to check/change the belt and maybe the H2O pump... I knew I was going to need to do mine in the '95, but didn't anticipate doing it on a Sunday/Monday in AZ less than half way to home! UGH!

I put over 800 miles on a TT like yours (but seal gray) back in '02 or '03 maybe in 4 days and there were MANY times I would have preferred to have been in my GTS! That said, I LOVED the TT! I'll have a 997 TT at some point!

As for the rear A/C... All I can say is they are normally a problem and most of them should probably be capped off and removed from the 928. If the front A/C is working properly you actually don't need the rear one! My '92 does not even have a rear A/C and that sucker and freeze you out! The key is that it is:

a. Working properly as it should
b. The valve that allows hot water to the heater core is also closing fully

Awesome buy for you and keep us posted! I LOVE GTS's!!!! Well, hell, I love 928's in general!

We're driving the GTS for a one week visit from Dallas to Phoenix this week and it's the perfect tool for it - I for one do enjoy the rear AC

Good luck with your new to you GTS, enjoy

OK car arrived yesterday. Overall seems really solid for the price. It has some paintwork but cant find any real body repair.Going to wetsand and buff the whole car , should be fine.Came with the books and all keys. The interior really is as new with everything working. It has an aftermarket stereo , but the speakers are either originals or under original covers. I changed the battery , the volt meter guage reads just below 12 so it may need an alternator, have to test it . In the preliminary inspection in my shop we didn't find anything obvious, maybe do the motor mounts and plugs to smooth it out a bit. The rear ac has the same issue as my 91 S4. turn on th rear unit and the front unit gets warmer. Maybe put the guages on it check freon level. Will report back after I drive it on the open road. will post pics soon

Looks just like my 95 except yours has red calipers, sounds like your interior is quite a bit nicer and your A/C works! Mine is perfect for the plans I have for it, but yours sounds like a REAL WINNER that was a great deal!

Congrats! BTW, I say keep the black S4 (or did you say GT?) and ADD a black S and OB! Go ahead, collect the whole set! you know you want to!
